Ciao!
ventilatori italiani dell'automobile,
fans of Italian cars, As I stated in the last letter, a centrally located Italian restaurant would be selected for a lunch gathering.
Tinoco’s at 103 East Charleston (702 464 5008) should be a fun and delicious place for our celebrazione of Italian cars. This restaurant has an attractive corner parking lot with a view for the passing cars on Charleston.
I extend an invitation for all to attend. Even though we are focusing on marques other than Ferrari and Lamborghini, in an effort to get the club rolling again, all Italian cars ( and their owner’s!) are encouraged to attend.
This event will take place at 1pm on January 24, 2009.
As a courtesy to Chef Tinoco, and his lunch staff, I would like to provide an expectation of attendance. So, please R.S.V.P. to myself, Joe Campobasso, 702 423 1960 or joepizano@yahoo.com no later than 1/16/09.
I have not scheduled a drive to the restaurant. Until we can get a steadfast group of attendees, I am not sure of who will attend and from where we would like to make the drive. This would be a good topic for dialogue at our lunch.
In the news front, this has been an active past few weeks. The first new Alfa Romeo, for more than a decade was delivered to the USA the last week of October. Just days later, Alfa announced yet another delay before new Alfa Romeo production cars will be delivered to American showroom. We’ll have to wait until at least 2013! And we all know of Massa’s last turn disappointment in the last lap of the last race of the year. It does not get closer than that.
On the publication front, we have lost one of our periodical gems in the past month. Sports Cars International has published its last issue. The publishers has stated their intend to continue the publication of Fornza. Losing SCI is a real loss to all car enthusiasts.
I invite you to send pictures and stories about you cars to the above email address so that a car can be featured in each letter. Until there are submittals for this, I have copied an article about a rare model. This is a re-print from Auto Italia issue 138.
For the time between now and the lunch gathering, let's all meet at Cars And Coffee.
'lavorare ad allora…
'till then…
