Ciao!
ventilatori italiani dell'automobile,
fans of Italian cars, I am excited to announce the reformation of the Las Vegas Italian Auto Club. I have been asked and accepted the challenge as the new club president to make the club active again and make it better than ever!
It is my goal in the next few weeks to put together an all new program of events. As the great Las Vegas showman, Elvis once said, "the same, but different" !
As the year is coming to a close, and this is the time for the holiday hustle and bustle, families and friends, so rather than disturb these events, I am targeting mid January for the first event. In the vein of the same but different, we will meet at a location to be determined on the east side or the west side of town, then drive to a mid valley Italian restaurant for lunch and lavations. As we have an "abbondanza" of Italian restaurants in the valley, we'll be visiting a different one each month. This will give us a chance to experience different menus while enjoying great car talk, as well as it will give others throughout the valley a chance to experience our cars. After all, isn't this our goal, to show off and sing the phases of our cars? We are automobile pazzesco, car crazy, or at least, crazy about our cars
Another thing that will be different is the emphasis of Italian cars that are without other local clubs. A distinctive aspect of our cars, is that with the exception of a few Alfas of the 1990s, our cars are uniquely vintage. Ownership of these cars have more in common with each other than the Italian cars that are presently imported. I expect to have shared events with our friends in the FCoA, but will we operate separately. The Las Vegas chapter of the Ferrari Club of America does a great job of representing the Ferrari and owners of the Trident and the Bull locally, so we are putting a shout out for the other great marques of Italy;
Alfa, Fiat, Lancia, De Tomasso, and the more rare Abarth, Zagato, Innocetti, Vespa and Piaggio
Owners and enthusiasts are all invited to celebrate our cars, food, and all things Italian.
In the following months, I will be providing a monthly newsletter. Please send pictures and information about your cars so that a different member's car can be featured each month. I will also include Italian car news from other publications, as I find it.
For the time between now and the next newsletter, let's all meet at Cars And Coffee.
'lavorare ad allora…
'till then…
