I am a relatively new member of the desert region ferrari club. I own an '86 testa and an '82 mondial 8. Up to now I haven't had time to join in the club's activities as I work in Los Angeles and am only in Las Vegas on weekends. However, I am home for two weeks for the holidays and will try to join in whatever events you currently have planned after Xmas.

Also, I am wondering if anyone in the club knows how to access the engine when the cable that releases the compartment latches has stretched. I put the car up on a lift but cannot seem to reach the latches to try to unhook them, although I heard from John (mechanic at Penske-Wynn) that he unlatched one by recahing up from underneath with a long screwdriver. I tried that, but no luck. From the service manual I see that there is an emergency cable with a small loop on the end, but can't find it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
