The regular monthly mtg will be held in conjunction w/ the BRMC Spring Membership Rally. This will be on Sat., Mar. 23, noon-4 at Woodall Mazda, 1065 Riverside Dr., Danville. The purpose is to give the members a chance to get together and hopefully draw some new members into the club. We will have our cars on display as well as info, pics about the club and past events. We would like to have a great showing from R'nke and L'burg as well as Danville for this. Please wear BRMC logo clothing if you have any as well as club name badge so that potential members will be able to identify. Also if you have any pics of past events and Deal's Gap, please bring them to display. Woodall is providing refreshments as well as a board room for a mtg.
We will set up our cars on the grass apron in front of the dealership, kind of like a Miata car show. They will have a table w/ club info as well as Miata brochures and magazines. Afterwards we will do a short run &/or get some dinner.
I am the contact person for this event so if you have any questions please contact me.

Jeff
also remember to bring your chairs!

I hope to be there.

By the way, will Woodall have anything special (ballons, flags, etc.) to indicate that an event will be held there for that day?

Hopefully the cars will let the people know. We have done a flyer that is being mailed out to their Miata buyers from the last 2 yrs. I will also be posting it around town and tagging other Miatae when I see them. If anybody would like some to hand out let me know. See you all then.

Sounds like a good time. Sorry I won't be able to make it, as I'm on call that weekend. Oh, I'll try to get my dues in the mail this week. Thanks for keeping me informed. Hope something can be planned closer to Galax.

I shall endeavor to be there too. I'm FedEx-ing my injectors to RC Engineering out in CA tomorrow to be cleaned, balanced and calibrated. So long as I get them back by the end of next week I should be good to go

Seems I'll be Miataless for a few days guess it's time to finally do some mods

Ok, the countdown for this wkend is on. I'll be busy lining things up for the event. If you have any suggs. for Sat, please let me know. I'm hoping to have some weather like last Fri and will have lots of tops down. This will be a good opportunity to showcase the BRMC as well as your cars. Treat it like a Miata only car show. Bring your California
Duster and Final Inspection. Be prepared to talk about your love of the car and any mods you have done. I'll have club apps and info. sheets on hand for prospective members. Bring any pics of club events you may have to show.
Also, Hannah Fuller has mapped out a fun run for us afterwards. It runs on some of our best backroads and ends at a great steakhouse for dinner. The run is 71 mi. and should take just under 2 hrs, it includes a pit stop at a genuine Amish country store. We will plan to be at the restaurant at 6pm for dinner. If you know at this point you will be staying for dinner let me know so we can make resv. Thanks and hope to see ALL OF YOU on Sat.

Jeff,

How far from Danville is this steakhouse?

I'm just trying to see how far a drive after dinner I would have to get back home.

It's about 45 min from Danville, but for you it might be just as easy to take 501N back into L'burg. Probably 1hr and 45 min. either way.

Jeff,

In case some members forget their name badges, I printed some name tags (with the club logo) on my inkjet printer, and I plan to bring them with me. If it rains, we'll need to peel them off--the ink is not colorfast...

You can be the judge of whether we use them or not.

There is a way back to L-berg,15 minutes faster than going back thru Danville. Where the road comes out from steak house (rt 62) towards Danville (rt58)...keep straight on rt726 to rt 29. 29 to L-berg. Rt 726 comes out about 10 mi north of Danville on one end and 7 mi east of Danville on the other end. Its considered by locals to be the east side by-pass. Its the same road that is straight across from the turn off to go to VIR.

Fun!! the drive out to the restaurant was quite fun. And the food was quite tasty too!!!

Now as for the ride home I got a flat!! my rear left went flat as I turned off of 58 to get onto 29!! I noticed that once I passed VIR there at Milton, my car was starting to pull sharply to the left... well now I know why!! Picked up a nail somewhere along the way... I thought my car was leaning funny when I left the restaurant... but I thought it was just the way it was parked in the gravel lot. The sidewalls are trashed... I started to notice a vibration in the transmission... thought it was just my stereo so I turned it down... but it persisted... so I slowed down... and it got worse... then I new exactly what was happening... Luckily there was a police car patrolling and saw my flashing lights... his spot light came in handy!!!

So I nursed it all the way home on that little dougnut spare... Guess I'm gonna just have to buy a cheapo replacement until the remaining tires wear out and then I'll be able to replace all of them at once...

Anyway.. here are todays pictures...

So sorry to hear of your flat. Hope it didn't mar the day too bad for you. Thanks for staying for the run and dinner. Believe me I know it makes for a long day, been there, done that.
Great pics! I see some new additions for my screensaver. You've been named as the official club photobug. Next time we see each other tell me about your camera. I thinks that's gonna be in the future for me.

Sorry to hear about you flat tire last night. If I had seen you, you could have came to our house and spent the night. Could have had the tire repaired at Walmart this AM and been on you way back home. If you have trouble again give me a call. Great pictures of the event, I will send you a separate e-mail of the ones I want.
